Are you tired of dull chainsaws that require constant maintenance and sharpening? Look no further than the Oregon CS1500 18-inch 15 Amp Self-Sharpening Corded Electric Chainsaw! As someone who has had their fair share of frustrating experiences with chainsaws, I can confidently say that the Oregon CS1500 is a game-changer. Not only is it incredibly easy to use, but it also has an integrated self-sharpening system called PowerSharp. Yes, you read that right, it sharpens itself! No more stopping mid-task to manually sharpen your chainsaw. But let’s back up a bit. When I first received the chainsaw, I was pleasantly surprised by how lightweight it was. I was worried it might be too heavy for me to handle, but it was surprisingly manageable. The 18-inch blade was the perfect size for the tasks I had in mind, and the 15 Amp motor made quick work of even the thickest branches. Now, let’s talk about the PowerSharp system. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after using it a few times, I can confidently say that it works like a charm. When the chain starts to dull, simply pull the red PowerSharp lever for 3-5 seconds, and voila! Your chain is sharpened and ready to go. It’s like having your own personal chainsaw sharpener built right into the tool. But wait, there’s more! The chainsaw also has an automatic oiling system, so you don’t have to worry about constantly checking and refilling the oil. And if you do run into any issues, the Oregon CS1500 comes with a 2-year warranty for added peace of mind. Now, I have to admit, I did encounter a few minor issues with the chainsaw. For one, the power cord is a bit on the shorter side, so you may need an extension cord depending on the location of your work area. Additionally, the chainsaw is corded, so you will need access to an outlet to use it. However, these issues were easily resolved, and they didn’t detract from my overall satisfaction with the product. One thing I particularly appreciated about the Oregon CS1500 was how straightforward it was to use. Even if you’re not particularly handy or experienced with chainsaws, you should have no problem figuring out how to operate it. The instructions are clear and concise, and the chainsaw itself is very user-friendly.As for the performance of the chainsaw, I have nothing but positive things to say. It cut through branches and logs with ease, and the self-sharpening feature really does make a noticeable difference in the quality of the cuts. The noise level was also fairly reasonable for a chainsaw, which is a nice bonus if you’re working in a residential area. Finally, I have to give a shoutout to the customer service team at Oregon. When I had an issue with the chainsaw shortly after purchasing it, they were incredibly responsive and helpful. They even sent me a replacement part free of charge, which was much appreciated. In terms of safety, the Oregon CS1500 also has some great features that put my mind at ease. The chain brake stops the chain in case of kickback, which can be a lifesaver if you’re not paying attention or if something unexpected happens. There’s also a lockout button that prevents accidental start-ups, which is a nice touch. One thing to keep in mind is that, like any chainsaw, the Oregon CS1500 can be dangerous if not used properly. Make sure to read and follow the safety instructions carefully, and always wear appropriate protective gear (such as eye and ear protection, gloves, and sturdy clothing) when operating the tool. Now, for the storytelling and funny aspect of the review… I have to admit, there’s not a lot of room for humor when it comes to chainsaws. But I can tell you a little story about how the Oregon CS1500 saved the day (and a whole lot of hassle) for me recently.I was working on a DIY project that involved cutting down some branches in my backyard. I had been using a different chainsaw that was frustratingly dull and difficult to use, and I was getting pretty fed up. That’s when the Oregon CS1500 arrived on my doorstep.I eagerly unpacked the chainsaw and put it to the test. I was immediately impressed by how easy it was to use and how smoothly it cut through the branches. But the real magic happened when I needed to sharpen the chain. With my old chainsaw, sharpening the chain was always a huge hassle. I had to stop what I was doing, take the chain off the saw, manually sharpen it (which was a whole process in itself), and then put the chain back on. It was time-consuming and frustrating. But with the Oregon CS1500, sharpening the chain was a breeze. I simply pulled the PowerSharp lever for a few seconds, and the chain was good as new. It was so quick and easy that I didn’t even have to take a break from my project. In the end, the Oregon CS1500 saved me a ton of time and hassle, and made my DIY project much more enjoyable. And if that’s not a glowing endorsement, I don’t know what is!Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Oregon CS1500 18-inch 15 Amp Self-Sharpening Corded Electric Chainsaw. It’s a game-changer in the world of chainsaws, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use tool that takes the hassle out of chainsaw maintenance. 4 out of 5 stars!

Had my doubts about a 120V 15A chainsaw after owning a Greenworks 40V battery powered chainsaw. The saw was ok but you’ll need at least two battery packs and they sell for over $100 each. But this Oregon CS1500 is amazing. In two cutting sessions I’ve downed four 16 inch diameter pine trees and sectioned them (about a cords worth of wood once I split it all). Also cut some dried out 8 inch Cedar/Juniper (a hard wood). Cuts like butter. The built-in chain sharpener is a WINNER folks! Squeeze the trigger and pull the lever and some sparks will fly and then the chain will be sharp as when brand new (wear leather gloves when handling the chain – you’ve been warned).Oregon says to use a 12-2 power cord/extensions. I had some 14-2 x 50 foot extensions from my musician days and it worked no problem (even up to 200 feet of cord). I have one acre and can reach any area.Check the oil reservoir and chain tension once in a while, NEVER run it dry especially while cutting and don’t press down on the chain too hard while cutting (making the engine slow down and labor heavily) and this saw should last for years (has a 2-year warranty … nice!). Oregon sells a one gallon jug of bar & chain oil. It’s just double the price of their and other brand’s one quart bottle and it’s ALL SEASON.

I rate this electric chain saw very high for the price and features. I cut down 4 pine trees 12 to 16 inches in diameter, and if you didn’t know better, you would have thought I knew what I was doing. Yes i had some of the problems others had, and because of their reviews I knew what to do, and it worked out very good. I kept the right tension on the chain almost always but got pinched and bound up a couple times, chain came off the bar. I unplugged the saw and broke down the saw on the spot and disassembled the chainsaw bar from the motor housing. Carefully I got the chain and guide unbound, and cleaned out around the sharpener and sprocket and put it back together. I learned how to put the chain back in the grove on the bar, and put enough tension on it so it would stay in place before I put the cover back on. The second time I put the chain on backwards and couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t cutting….quickly took it apart flipped the chain over, did my impression of Chris Farley, and I was back in business. This is a good tool, and I know my problems were due to fatigue, and not making a proper cut, and not paying attention to the weight of the larger branches. I paid a hundred bucks for this, and saved myself over a thousand. Hope this helps…wear leather gloves and eye protection, and you too can be a mountain man, or maybe just an amateur tree trimmer, with a can-do-attitude. Buy the extra Bar Oil upfront, you will need it, and you won’t interrupt your work when you run low.

Exactly as described.Perfect weight and easy of handling for those small to medium jobs. Currently using it to cut down a 30 year old blue spruce with no concerns. Love the self oiling and sharpening feature, still a little unsure how often I will have to refill the oil reservoir.

Good saw for moneyDecent saw. Requires a cord and obvious its hard to work with it in the woods with clutter and branches around without disconnecting. I knew that when i bought it so that was not the issue. The chain does come off once in a while (2-3 times during 6 hour work day). It is an easy fix – takes about 2 minutes to put it back on but could be annoying.
