Nice, nice pruning saw! Already wacked down and chopped up a 4″ diameter tree with it. The 3amp battery came with the kit. It worked well. I bought an additional 5amp battery for a backup. Only draw-back see is the charge time for the batteries. Takes a bit too long for charging for my liking. I can live with that though. I would highly recommend this saw.

Bought this unit to replace a much cheaper, and unsatisfactory, brand. I’m returning this one as well as the auto-oiler proved defective… mine and a Dewalt technician’s opinion. There was no flow of lubricant to the bar/chain assembly. The third-party seller was gracious enough to receive this return, postage paid by them because of the “defect”. Additionally, I don’t know that I will replace this with one of the same. This unit does indeed leak chain oil terribly via the cap, no matter how snugly it is tightened. Dewalt wants you to drain the chain oil after every use… this doesn’t seem right. Doesn’t pass the smell test.

I’m a land surveyor, we carry one in to use on the brush that a machete would take hours to cut through, my crew chief of 20+ years said he doesn’t know who we lived without it.As far as time saved, it paid for itself in a week. Using it off and on through a day, the battery last all day. I recommend it to all surveyors who work in the woods.

Excellent value for moneyI purchased this because I received an injury to my dominant hand which makes using my chainsaw very difficult. This saw is light enough and powerful enough to get most cutting jobs done. Battery seems to take quite awhile to charge and the safety button is a stretch to reach, but even with those shortcomings I am still giving it a 5.Luv this tool

works good but leaks oil like a sieve!Leaking oil like crazy even before i got to use it, and told by seller that was normal, had to contact Dewalt direct for any kind of help.
