My old man and I do yard work once a week come summer (April-September in Texas). For years we ran a backpack blower. Well after little over a decade it went bunker up for good. He temporarily moved to some cordless junk that did the job but he complained about the cord.I had some Dewalt batteries that came with my impact and drill (one 5AH & 4AH XRs). Figured why not give it a shot.First day he used it to clear dead leaves off the back patio he was thoroughly please by it’s power to weight ratio. Much lighter compared to the backpack and to his surprise slightly lighter than the corded one.He compared the output to somewhere between the gas backpack and the corded.Fast forward a month later I got him a 6AH XR battery to give it some extra juice. He loves it! We recommend the 6AH XR, it increases power and has a reasonable battery life compared to the 5AH & 4AH.With 6AH you can get a solid 20 minutes straight at full blast before you feel it start to lose juice. It does have a variable speed trigger. Only downside is the switch to lock the speed is a bit wonky and will work itself loose. Not a bother to us as we prefer to squeeze the trigger manually and feather it as needed to corral leaves and other debris.

Oh my I just want to say thank you for the fast shipping and delivery. This is a great blower. I have several pecan trees, a cedar tree and lots of pine trees that are shedding something all year round. The squirrels make such a mess with half eaten pecans. Then you will have an ant problem. I don’t want to spray harsh chemicals, so this gets crumbs and all. This blower is powerful and does get a little heavy after awhile. This is partly because of the bigger battery that you will have to use. It does love a battery. I have several so this is not a problem. I am very happy and I would definitely recommend getting it.

It’s not terrible but would have expected more that what it does. Says “125mph” but I’ve been through 100mph hurricanes that are better. I also have a Kobalt blower with a lower rating and it works better. I just have about 25 Dewalt batteries so thought I’d get this since the price wasn’t “that” bad. Would have expected more.I have a 4ah battery and it seems to drain relatively quickly, as in runs for about 30-45 minutes and then done. Not continuous running but still, should last longer and it’s a pretty new battery. I know it’s not a gas blower but it’s really not that much better than the small Dewalt blower I have (don’t remember the model#). If your only purpose is to blow a small amount of leaves from your porch, this will work.

Cordless has not yet been able to match the blowing power of an electric (corded) blower, but this one does very well. And because it’s cordless, it’s easy to reach for when needed. Just grab it and blow. I use this thing constantly! That wouldn’t happen with my more powerful B&W corded blower. Too much hassle to get the extension cord out, run it from an outlet (which is usually far from where you need the blower) and then fight with the cord while you’re blowing. The rear intake on the Dewalt was my biggest hesitation to getting this one. I always preferred the B&W models with air intake on the side… that way you don’t have worry about your shirt getting sucked in. However, after getting used to a rear-intake blower, it’s not too bad. You just learn to hold it off to your side, rather than in front of you (which to me feels more natural). It still does get my shirt from time to time. So, if Dewalt put the intake on the bottom, this would be a total winner. The other negative is the noise level… a very high pitched whine. I initially put earplugs in whenever using it. Now, it doesn’t seem to bother me as much… but it is a rather loud & high-pitched noise. I do recommend earplugs. As for battery, yes this thing is pushing a lot of air and that takes power. However, I find a 5AH battery is lasts a sufficient amount of time. When the air push starts feeling anemic and that whine begins to drop in pitch, time to swap out the battery.I will say that swapping out the battery seemed nearly impossible – until I learned to pull the battery’s release latch with my left hand WHILE PUSHING the battery out with the thumb of my right hand. If you’re just trying to PULL the battery out from the release latch side with one hand, good luck with that. She’s in there pretty snug.

Originally got the smaller DCE100. While cheaper than the DCBL722, it seems louder than the larger unit. Anyway, the DCE100 died one week after the warranty ended. And its 100 CFM strength just didn’t cut it even for the simple tasks.Very pleased with the 450 CFM power of this new unit. Should have been my first choice.

This is the second of these leafblowers we’ve bought. At our camp in the mtns, we blow off the porch & picnic table when we get there. At home we blow debris off our concrete porch & also our long driveway. It’s great to blow off the garage floor instead of sweeping!! I am a senior & can handle this leafblower easily.

Ordered this dewalt leaf blower because i have a vast amount of dewalt tools and this uses the same battery. I received my leaf blower turned it on it worked for less than 2 min had to box it up and return it for an exchange unit. the 2nd leaf blower i received works as it should. if you want a leaf blower and already own alot of dewalt tools and batteries its a no brainer.

Too difficult for me to start a gas powered blower. Tried electric one and after 2 years burned up plus having to drag around electric cord is just not practical especially if u have a large yard. Bought the battery operated dewalt and love it. Such power and does a great job. Easy enough for a person with lots of arthritis in hands back etc to operate and handle.
